Zawadi is an Afropolitan feminist digital native, who leverages her non-profit experience, creativity, communication skills, and extensive global networks to advance progressive change. She has been a leader in the field of sexual and reproductive rights for over nine years, and an advocate for women’s rights for over fifteen years.
She has honed her social media expertise through a number of campaigns, trainings, and speaking opportunities. Her most recent success is the #1MilliForJadudi campaign which she led using a crowdfunding strategy that helped raise over $70,000 in 3 days to support a 24-year-old Kenyan seeking surgery in India for his 4th brain tumor.
Through a blend of short and long-term engagements, she has worked with organizations such as Safaricom Foundation, Oxfam, Femnet, Open Society Foundation, AWID and Urgent Action Fund. She also served as the acting CEO of the Africa Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to promote the prevention of cancer and provide holistic solutions to people affected by cancer in Africa.
